Well, System 6.0.1, and possibly System 6.0, reports the System
version number when you boot. You know the splash screen: "Welcome to
the IIgs \n System 6.01". However, you still need to know that that
refers to a different version number for GS/OS which is v4.02 in the
case of System 6.0.1. :-)

What are you trying to do, crash my system so I can finish IN: The
Mailbox? :-)
I don't have my RamFAST yet so I don't need to worry about that yet.
Besides, you can press any key that isn't assigned to anything special
to switch to the text screen as far as I know. I used to do it by
pressing the TAB key.
