Re: Apple II GS Questions

Bob chanted almost zenlike back at me:

RC(| Thanks to everyone for all the help! One last question, if I

One? :)

    | download stuff from the net from asimov, how hard is it to
    | transfer this stuff from my PC to the GS? Also, if I was to get

Not terribly hard. A null-modem cable between the PC and the GS, or a
phone wire between the modems of the two computers, or use a middleman
like a BBS to send then receive... Yeah, the latter two require you
have a modem on the GS, but you really should have one. :)

    | a modem for the GS, can I connect to the internet with it? If

Yes.

    | so, what kind of software will I need to get? I love the old

ProTerm 3.1, or Spectrum 2.x, and you'll want Marinetti 2.0

The question you really wanted to ask was, how do I get connected? The
best is to have a server that does everything in text like a BBS,
instead of requiring you do to a TCP/IP connection (the tools for the
GS are in the beginning stages; the connection software exists but the
apps for it are still coming).

    | I also have a Lazer 128, Apple compatible I got from Sears in
    | 1989. How would this compare to the GS?

It compares to a //c. The GS does 4096 colors, 11 voices, 8 megs RAM,
runs 16-bit forked files, slices, dices, julliens, and plain rocks.

                                                << mushroom >>
