You can upgrade the iMac to 300MHz, you have to configure some resisters
to do it. I have an iMac it is great for all kinds of applications, People
that don't have them seem to think there only for Grandma, I use my iMac
for learning Graphics. I use Photoshop - Illustrator - Quark - OS 8.5-. At
this time I only have 96MGs of Ram, There have been reports that you can
have 128MGs of Ram in each slot.
I have not done this, or the upgrade to 300MHz myself, I have just read reports.
The only thing that I could understand someone maybe not being happy with
is the 15" monitor. It does not bother me, but wen I go to my friends and
he has a 21" monitor--Wow what a difference. I think of the iMac as a
computer for people who just don't have alot of money. It has been shown
to be faster then the 233 desk top G3, I would say for home you can do
alot more then some think.
As far as out in the work place, I would use the bigger Macs.
