Several teachers at my high school said that was the "System Death Sound",
when I caused it to happen. It is suppost to signal hardware problems. The
Mac needs to be repaired.
P.S. On some Macs, you can make them make those sounds by hitting Apple-Reset
before the "Welcome to the Macintosh" or MacOS logo appears when the machine
is booting up. That's how I scared the teachers. I didn't know it indicated
hardwarte failures at the time. The above procedure is harmless, by the way.
