Hmmm...Once I got booted, I figured I would do that, but I found no such
file.  I did remove the FINDER.DATA file from the root directory.  That
failed to help.

Well, what I ended up doing, rather than waiting for expert help, was
running a GS/OS 6.0.1 update.  But before I did that, I copied all of the
files from /GEMINI/SYSTEM/.. into /TORNADO/SYSBACKUP/.. .  So I guess the
next thing I need to do is start copying files back from the backup into
the boot partition so that I can get my filename patches back.

Hmmm...Well, I have not had troubles before using the Finder; in fact,
what I've done is to create a directory called "Aliases" on my HFS drive
(/MAGNUM/) with aliases to all the applications I use most often and just
use that as a launcher.  Unlike apparently a lot of people here, I
actually like the GS/OS Finder...  8-)  Maybe that is because it is so
much better than the Win95 machine I have to use at work...
