Re: Whats your IIe setup like?
I'll share my IIe setup. (A GS is my main machine. I put together the IIe
out of parts).
First, I have a platinum keyboard and case around, but I'm not using it
because I don't like the "touch" of the keyboard as much. This IIe has an
excellent touch. I have added an Apple external numeric keyboard. It has a
System Saver fan. The slots currently contain:
1: ThunderClock
2: Rev. "C" SCSI card attached to 40 Meg drive in Apple HD case.
3: -
4: Apple Mouse
5: PC Transporter (serves as 768K extra memory and controls a 3.5" Apple
disk drive, so I can swap files with my GS and with a Mac). I'm not
currently using it as a PC-XT emulator, but I have in the past, and may
again.
6. Duodisk controller.
7. Cirtech Statdisk (battery-backed static RAM card. Gives very fast
bootups).
This setup may change soon, if some planned swaps go though. Slot 3 will
hold an accelerator card, the Cirtech card will come out, and an Apple
Workstation card will go in. That'll give me access to my networked
LaserWriter Plus.
This is a pretty nice AppleWorks 5.1 machine, except that it needs the
accelerator to shine in that department.
