Hypercard is a piece of software which you should definitely want. Think
about a paintprogram which can create graphics. Now add the feature to
link them together. Add the ability to add descriptive text and buttons
which allow the user to click them and navigate from graphics "card" to
"card". Now you come close to the Hypercard idea. But there is more!
You can add sounds to your graphics "stacks", you can add music and
special effects. You can attach small programs in a simple language
called Hypertalk to buttons and cards which can do something like sorting
a database or calling an external program if you are advanced enough.
If you like games, Hypercard is a must. There are many game stacks,
especially adventures.
If you like demos, Hypercard is a must. You can write your own demos
without big programming, like the Hypercard NotFTA demo for example.
If you like music, Hypercard is a must. You can create or use jukebox-
like music players.
If you like graphics, well, if you have Hypercard you won't even need
another paint program.
Best of all, it's free!!!
Best wishes!
