Re: Software for my "new IIc"

There are several, including Apple's site. You'll have to poke around a bit to
find the Apple II stuff, but it's there.

A lot of Apple II software is also available commercially, which is a help when
the yard sale doesn't pan out. For system software, utilities and software
development tools, see www.hypermall.com/byteworks, for example.

Not a bad place, actually.

You can't. This has nothing to do with the processor, and everything to do with
the drive. Apple's floppy disk uses a 140K format (usually; it can use an
outdated smaller format of about 113K, too), not 1.2M. You physically can't
read information recorded on one drive in the other.

For basic system disks and the like, check with your local users group. You can
get manuals with system disks from us; see the web site I listed earlier. You
can also get system disks without manuals from a number of sources, usually for
a small copying fee. I'm sure a few people will stop by with an offer.
