Type INIT STARTUP to format the disk. Then to rename any
BASIC program to "STARTUP" for that program to autoboot.

However, two years after 1982, Apple released another OS
that completely replaced DOS 3.3. It is called ProDOS and
is based on the SOS operating system developed for the
Apple III.

ProDOS is superior in several ways. It supports hard drives,
CD-ROMs, and 3.5" drives, for one thing. Another is that it
supports folders. You should get the ProDOS System Disk
because most of the software for the IIe written since 1984
use ProDOS. It is also about 3x faster in disk operations.

Some ProDOS commands and their MS-DOS equivalents

PREFIX = CD
RENAME = RENAME
DELETE = ERASE
Instead of just typing the name of a file to launch it as you
would in MS-DOS, under ProDOS, preceed the file name
with a hyphen. "-STARTUP" for example.
