Yes, with the DSK2FILE program, all this is done on the Apple
It is really quite easy and painless.  7 .dsks fit on one 800k
3.5" disk, so you can batch convert.

Run DSK2FILE.  Insert 5.25" disk one.  Convert .dsk one.
Insert 5.25" disk 2.  Convert .dsk two.  Etc.
