I liked the ThunderScanner for doing detailed work. I had a lot of fun
scanning astronomical images and using Deluxe Paint II to process them.
For scanning small things I just taped them to a piece of paper and
fed it through the printer. Hand held scanners (like the Quickie) are
harder to use for detailed work as it's not easy to get them to track
straight. However, they're great for OCR work. I don't use them as much
as I used to, but they still come in handy.
