There were SASI to MFM converters, made by Adaptec, Cipher and other
manufacturers. Perhaps the Sider uses one of these. MFM has a completely
different cabling scheme that would not fit the 50 pin connector. 

Or ... my card is not a Sider interface? Nevertheless, the connector
pinout looks like SCSI (or SASI, it is only a subset of
SCSI-1/X3.131-1986).
