Re: SCSI Termination Power
John,
Since you seem comfortable with a soldering iron, you can perform
a simple modification to the HS SCSI card so that it provides the
termination power to the SCSI bus itself. The mod consists of
soldering a diode between two locations on the card. Very easy to
do. I did it years ago with no problem. Unfortunately, I don't have
the GIF file with the directions and a nice line art diagram of the
HS SCSI card showing the location of the mod. If I remember, the
file is called HISPEED.GIF or HSSCSI.GIF. The diodes cost only a
couple bucks from Radio Schack.
Try looking on the ground A2 ftp site for this file.
If you have a problem finding it, let me know and I'll try to see
if I have it on one of the dozens of floppies laying around here!
(But, the ftp sites should prove more fruitful in your search!)
Good luck,
Paul.
