Not exactly the answer I was hoping to hear, Rubywand...!  8-)

Hmmm...Well, the files are on a ProDOS disk.  They are files from my GS,
but as nearly as I can tell, they are plain text files (no forks), which
was the first suspicion I had.  File-A-Trix shows an icon in the directory
if the file is forked; there is no such icon for any of these files.  Hmmm...

I'll keep playing with it...
