The IIc requires a separate "brick" that adapts mains AC to the
computer. The output of the brick (which goes into the male DIN
connector you mentioned) is about 15V DC.
The computer will run off 9V to 18V DC. It is possible to run the IIc
off a 12V car battery, for example, if you have the right connectors.
