Laser 3.5 drive on GS and IIC?

G'day All,

                Could anyone tell me if an external Laser 3.5" disk
drive work with a IIGS and a (unidisk capable) IIC??

I've been given one that sometimes works (from what I'm told) and I'd
like to try it, but would like to know if it works before I try so I
know what to expect.
