Creepy Corridors
Greetings,
A friend of mine was reading a battered old copy of the non-fiction
book, "Hackers" at work, and he mentioned the classic game, "Creepy
Corridors." I remembered playing that game after school on the Apple
IIe's there, and that horrifying scream that was encoded to play in
the speaker.
I did a little searching online, and found Apple II emulator programs
and many disk images of other games I remembered playing, but no
Creepy Corridors. Frankly, I was expecting Alta Vista to point me to
some huge shrine dedicated to the game, considering how much attention
has been given to other similar games of the 80's.
But nothing was to be found. So, I just browsed around, and found a
list of newsgroups, including this one. So, I figure, why not just
post my plea:
Somewhere in this house or in a friend's house, my original Creepy
Corridors disk might still exist, and might still be readable after
all these years. IF I can find it, does anyone know how I can either
make an image of it on my 486 PC, or know someone trustworthy that I
can mail the disk to so they can make an image for me?
I'd be ever so grateful for any assistance you can offer... I guess
the bottom line is I just want to hear that scream once more... and
maybe make a .WAV recording of it.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
