Re: Concerning AppleWorks 5.1?
I trust that the readers of this newsgroup (all of you) read my
long post (with the inset quotes from the A2-Delphi forum) concerning all
issues and the need for a solution to these matters for all of our best
interest and for the well-being of the A2 community as a whole.
I rarely will post an email sent to me unless I feel it needs to be addressed
and made know to the entire A2 community and acted on in a positve manner and
in the best interest of the entire A2 community.
This morning I received this sad and disturbing email that not only sickened me
deeply, having to read it - but moved me to the point I'm most likely going to
do all in my power to try and prevent
it from occuring. We can't afford to loose another A2 developer
of this magnitude and standing. So, I'm calling on the entire A2 community
from this newgroup, from the A2-Delphi forum and from ever other area on the
Internet that can make some sort of effort to prevent the loss of this
valuable A2 person and her services. I'm asking all of you - to act and act
properly to try and help her see that see is needed and wanted very much!
The email I received follows:
------------------------------------------------------------
In a message dated 98-09-03 03:38:00 EDT, you write:
<< Please keep us all informed on the progress
of your efforts on all of it. >>
Yesterday I went on Delphi for the first time in 2 months. After seeing myself
"Nathanized" there almost continuously, I have left the Apple II community. I
will have nothing futher to do with it. Those people do not have the facts -
as you probably know, I did not leave Delphi in a huff, I was ordered off (very
rudely and most unexpectedly) by J. Sassman and Dean Esmay.
I will fulfill orders and make good on any subscriptions that people have sent
to me, but I will have nothing further to do with this community.
Please do not contact me about this or any other subject - I am not reading, or
answering any e-mail. Thank you again for your help on the AppleWorks Asimov
thing.
Also -- please lay off Joe Kohn. In the CheckWorks case, he is probably right.
Best wishes and regards,
Beverly Cadieux

To sum it all up from here, I'm taking Bev's advice on the last matter
mentioned. When I return from the Labor Day holiday weekend again on Tuesday,
I hope to see some positive responses and efforts to prevent what Beverly
related to me in that email above from occuring with her and/or with any other
A2 users, owners, developers, individuals.
I'll be working on an alternative to the A2-forum on Delphi, an A2 website in
an Adm. capacity, when I return on Tuesday. I certainly expect and hope to see
some positive results from this post when I return to read this newsgroup
again.
Sincerely,
Tom
