Well I have no objection whatsoever to major announcements about
Apple II emulators being posted here (i.e. the introduction of a new
emulator, an important update to an existing one--XGS32 counts, so
does or will that IIgs emulator being written from scratch for the
PC that I just read about) but feel differently about day to day
discussion of them here.
comp.sys.apple2 is intended for discussions about real hardware
based Apple II's. It doesn't have to be completely air-tight about
that, and like I mentioned above, I do not think it hurts to hear
announcements. However, to see it flooded with discussion about
people trouble shooting emulators with Win95, MacOS, Linux, etc,
or their comments about the emulators in general, would greatly
add to noise here.
I do find it kind of interesting that people suddenly got so
upset about XGS32 being discussed here, yet there has never been
any disapproval about topics like Bernie ][ The Rescue or the
current iMac thread being here. ;-)
