IIRC, the 'power supply replacement' hard drives like the innerdrive
and the vulcan could only deal with certain drive geometry/sizes.

I had an innerdrive/20 ... and it worked great, but I remember hearing
about folks being unable to upgrade them because the controller
firmware couldn't deal with the extended # of heads, cylinders and
sectors being reported by the drive itself.

I would try to find an old 20MB or 40MB drive and see if you can get
it to boot.
