     It has been a really long time since Sundog. I do recall that the
way you do some things with your character (like eat) is to move the
icon (like knife & fork) onto the blue "+" just to the right of the
head. I suppose moving an armor icon to some "+" point inside the char
outline would work for wearing armor.
