Portland OR: platinum IIe's plentiful

          THREE PLATINUM IIE'S AT PORTLAND OREGON GOODWILL STORE
          ======================================================

I've been away two weeks: one week at an academic conference in Washington
State, and a week visiting relatives in Oregon.

The main Goodwill thrift store in S.E. Portland  OR had three
great-looking platinum II's for sale: Two were $19.95 each and the third
was $29.95.  Case condition was excellent.  I was unable to buy them
because Mrs. Buggie is getting strict about my accumulation of A2
hardware.  I write this now so that others who are in dr9iving distance of
Portland can get these computers for their own use.

Each of the plat IIe's had several interface cards: a mini-64K 80 col 
RAM card, super serial card, and a disk drive card.

But the "flagship" of this IIe fleet had a 20 meg "Vulcan" internal hard
drive with its interface card.  The Vulcan looks like a black power supply
with a cooling fan.  It also had a 1 meg RamFactor memory card.

The Platinum IIe, latest version of the IIe, is the preferred type for
upgrading to a "stealth-IIgs" with IIgs motherboard transplanted into the
unit.

I saw these computers at the Portland Goodwill just a week ago --- August
10th.  I cannot get them myself, but hope that they can be rescued by
other A2 loyalists.
