Yes. Search the web for any Apple II software. The //c can run software
that was written for the Apple ][, ][+, //e and enhanced //e.

No, not the Stylewriter; that one is too Mac-specific. An ImageWriter
would be the best choice for a //c, since everything can print to it,
but maybe there are other, leaner printers available that adhere more to
your desire for compactness.
