Yes.  Only difference between a fax modem and a "regular" one is the
fax instruction set.  Kinda hard to find modems faster than 14.4 now
that do *not* support faxing.  :)  I have a 28.8 fax modem on my GS.

Most likely.  You have to use a "CTS/RTS" parms setting in the Install,
and an init string that handles things correctly.  The book for my 28.8
ultrageneric suggested AT&F [use default settings] but that doesn't do
the job.  So the string I am using to trip all the triggers is:

 ATX3\Q3

Before that, I was using something that worked except at 2400:

 ATX4&M0Y0\N2

 * 2qwk! 2.04 * COPY PROTECTION:  Game found on disks, similar to "Breakout."
