The Sony 400k are notorious for needing lubrication.  The original oil turns
to glue.  So, remove the drive, study where all the moving parts are for the
inject and eject mechanism, and carefully put a drop of light oil at each
point of friction.  Wipe off any excess.  You will have to manually work the
mechanism to make sure everything moves freely.

You will have to look carefully to find all the sliding, snapping and
pivoting parts.  You will probably be surprised how hard some are to move
before lubrication, and how much they are freed up.
