3.5 Daisy chain problem

I have a standard Apple 3.5 drive...    I had it hooked up to my IIc+, with
a DISK II daisied off the back of the 3.5...  it worked fine for a good
while, now when I hook the chain up, the DISK II doesn't want to work
properly. But it works fine when hooked up by its self.  Is it a problem
with the daisy chain board in the 3.5?
