You don't get it...TRUE OR FALSE, breaking up a decked
out IIGS will fetch more than $50?

Remember, we are talking about selling EACH PART as a
SEPARATE product, both hardware and software. LOOK
at csa2 marketplace and see what these hardware and
software are selling for. Now ADD them all up. They DO
sell for more than $50 TOTAL.

Sure, if you try to push an ENTIRE decked out GS system
you are going to be dissappointed. But BREAK UP the
system!

Another way to look at it is the $5 per piece common
sale price of IIGS software. Someone with 10 programs
....that itself would be $50, so where is your $50 per entire
GS system argument?

Then there is the hard drive...the person should at least
get $10 for the mechanism and $20 for the case and
power supply...this assuming a typical 230MB unit and
it is being VERY conservative. Then there is your
peripheral cards. Even assuming $5-$10 per peripheral,
that's $35 to $70 total. Then there is the keyboard,
which can be passed off as some Muckintosh unit...
could fetch anywhere between $10 and $25. Mouse
can get $7. Memory card, case, powersupply, and
motherboard EACH can be sold separately.

It is not that you are attacking the GS as your advice
to the user who is selling the system is flawed. See
Steve Buggie's followup for a better one.
