The leaving of Nathan Mates

Why Why Why... Why must we rely on the essance of one person to keep a
community going? Nathan was a great help to me, as I am sure he was to everyone
else in here, but that draws the line. Ever since I knew him, he ran Apple II's
down, beat them in the ground and used them for target practice of his screwd
comment.

I have been a LOYAL Apple II user since may 1980, and I'll be damned if I'll
watch the Apple II community go down because of ONE person. It sickens me! 18
years I have helped out and all that time I never did it for the money, or the
fame, I did it because I love the machine.... I have developed software for
them, I never worried about pirates, I knew that were out there, but is there
really a place that exists without them?? I ask you. What Nathan did was, to
say the least WRONG!!! I think we can go on without him, we have to, It's what
makes us unique, special, to me it's what the Apple II is all about; enduring
time despite all odds and coming back to capture the hearts of all users.

I'm not saying that Nathan is a bad person, but we should not rely on him, we
have to go forward, in to the future, and not let him drag us down. Tim, Apple
II User since 1980
