I thought it would be really neat to be able to type a straight hex
listing for a game (or other single-file program) straight into the //
e monitor and BSAVE it. Would also make it useful if ever using an
Apple //e with no serial card and without the desired piece of
software on floppy (and, at least in my experience, no reliable
ability to get the volume levels to work for doing ADTPro over the
cassette jacks).
Thought of the idea when I first used ADTPro earlier this year. I
mean, if one can type in every character of ProDOS, then why not do
the same thing for Mario Bros. or Appleoids?
I suppose what surprises me is that a no-longer-supported incarnation
of AppleWin supports doing this type of extraction but CiderPress
doesn't! I've become so accustomed to the notion (heretofore borne
out by experience) of seeing every feature present in emulator file
interfacing to also be present in CiderPress, that it's a bit of a
shock that this feature wouldn't already be included.
Any chance this one could make its way into the next version?
Please? I'd do it myself if I knew how, but it would take me a good
many years to figure that out!
