Re: Nathan's farewell...

It's how I felt after reading your post. I feel like the grizzled old dude
who shakes his head at your brash young perspective on this newsgroup.
Call me a member of the 'old generation' whose time is past, if you like.
But as long as I'm bothering to post here, I'll stand up for my own views
whether they make any sense to you or not.

My hero?? Puh-leeze. I ragged on him (politely) about that on occasion.
Earlier this year I was passing through and stopped by his place to visit.
I tried to get him to lighten up on you and Ruby, but he's seen too much
questionable crap from you guys to ever give you the benefit of the doubt
again. It's when you say one thing and then ultimately do another, and
brush off people who ask you to account for that, that they eventually get
_very_ convinced that you are a liar.

If it really makes a difference, I'm 27, and if you found that comment to be
"dumb" then probably everything else I've said on this subject makes no sense
to you either. Ah well, I couldn't get through Nathan's thick skull, why
should I have any better luck with yours.

>Like I said to Nathan, "Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!"
Is that your attitude about anyone who disagrees with your almighty majority
viewpoint? Next thing you know, I'll accidentally wander onto your "turf" and
get myself cut up with a switchblade. Or is this just supposed to be a form of
"love it or leave it" sentiment about the newsgroup? I hope you don't confuse
the volume of people using c.s.a2, because they can't (or won't) use anything
that actually costs money, with its intrinsic quality. Ruby sure does.
>Sorry Todd, if you've been reading the posts around here you will see that your

YOU REALLY DON'T GET IT DO YOU. If my opinion were already in the majority,
there would have been little reason for me to post it. Do you really think
I didn't know that I was posting a fairly unpopular opinion on a well-worn
and quite flammable topic? Are you having trouble explaining to yourself
why I would bother to care about this topic now that Nathan has forfeited?
Maybe it's because I actually have my finger on something that feels very
uncomfortably close to the truth.

Now there's an intelligent remark!
