Appleworks 5.x requires at least an enhanced IIe, 256k memory, and
a 3.5" drive. You may still be able to get the disks + manual package
from Scantron Quality Computers (800-777-3642) for around $100.

The Asimov archive maintains the Awks 5.x disks ...

Beverly Cadieux, who runs the Texas II Appleworks mail group,
recommends Appleworks 3 for most IIe users. You can get the two Awks 3.0
diskettes (3.5") from Alltech (760-724-2404; http://allelec.com ) for
$15.95.

For Appleworks v3.0-v5.1 add-on/support information and software
check out Texas II/Kingwood Micro Software (972-562-6335). Their web
site is at http://members.aol.com/A2MG/ .

Quite a lot of software can be downloaded from Apple II sites on
the net. See the recently posted "Main Hall-1" FAQs for archive and
software site URLs. You can, also, contact a local Apple II users group
and/or some regular Csa2 poster.
