Re: Nathan's farewell...

Todd raised the cup and toasted:

TCE| LJ, just go fuck yourself. Your summary judgements about Nathan
    | are even more childish and self-centered than his ranting ever
    | was. You are simply writing your own version of history as the
    | 'victor' because you are the only one left speaking into the

I take this means you disagree with the "I'm taking my ball and going
home, nyhhh" summation? You'll have to be more convincing that this
was NOT how he came off.

    | finally ditch his A2 stuff and spend more time playing on modern
    | hardware. Recently I've been tempted by the same thing myself.

If your GS's have dust on them, isn't it fair to say you have?

    | state of copyright law. It convinces me utterly that after AWKS
    | and Spectrum stop releasing new versions, there will be NO NEW
    | COMMERCIAL SOFTWARE EVER for the A2.

Unprovable statement.

    | situation here on c.s.a2. Want something genuinely fun, like real
    | TCP/IP on your Apple? Go over to Delphi and kiss the feet of
    | Richard Bennett -- he actually poured a year's worth of free time

That's the thing, Todd. Your view requires feet-kissing. Nathan liked
his feet kissed, and Richard isn't oblivious to adolation either. And
both deserve recognision for their contributions, make no mistake, but
they are both human, both say mean things at times while doing good
things, and neither should either leave or stick around just because of
how many blowjobs they get from the folks who use their products.
Sending a nice note to an author thanking him for a good piece of
software or paying the purchase price / shareware fee, that I can agree
with. Feet kissing, sorry, should be left to the people with more
actual power; A2 authors are knights and court nobility, not kings and
bishops. There are other ways to show appreciation than by fawning.
