Piffle; II Alive was a perfectly fine Apple II publication from the
beginning through the final issue. And, speaking of misinformation-- or,
more likely in the above cases, simple ignorance-- the format switch
occurred well before the final year and the issues employed shadings of
black, white, and a color, not plain B&W.

Sure, we made mistakes. When we did, we admitted them and tried to
get corrections out to our readers here and in later issues. When a
couple writers complained, justly, of over-editing, the editing was
changed.

Your and Mitch's contributions were appreciated. So were those of
Bill Carver, Steve Buggie, Dr. Tom, Nancy Crawford, Brian Hammack,
Michael Mahon, and many other Csa2 regulars. Basically, we published
solid content by knowledgeable writers; and, thanks to Steve Giroux's
management and formatting of pics and artwork, the end result was an
attractive, informative publication.

By the Summer 1996 issue, we were constantly getting notes and
emails from users who wished to subscribe or extend their subscriptions.
But, Scantron had already decided to deemphasize Apple II support and
would not accept subscription orders. The magazine was scheduled to
cease in December and that was that. Even so, it was nice to know that
readers liked the magazine and would have continued their subscriptions.

That was then. Today's Apple II print and on-line publications
continue to present news and information of interest to users.
Unfortunately, with all the concern about spamming, the producers of
Juiced GS, Applebyters, SS-II, Apple Blossom, Dark Castel, GS-WorldView,
Geni Lamp, ... may be reluctant to post ads here.

So, here is an excuse for posting promotional information, a
question from a user:

Q: What Apple II on-line and print publications are available today? How
much is a subscription and how do I order?
