software to boot else you get the error message) and 1MB of
memory if you want to do anything useful (it has 128k standard).

Wintel/Macintosh external modem...up to about 9600...the computer
can easily support faster, but the serial chip, or "UART"-like chip's
flow control is not connected to the port to provide hardware
handshake needed for above 9600).
