Apple LC3 ---Help!!?

Hello, Maybe this isn't the right grouup for this, but I don't know
where else to turn to.

A friend of mine recently bought an Apple LC-III, for almost nothing.

He has been toying with it, and liked it very much.
And, to be honest,so did I.
I wish M$ had taken a better look at this OS, instead of copying the
user-interface from OS/2.

There were obviously a couple of questions, such as;

What is the latest version OS for this thingy? 7.5.3?
And where to get it?

What kind of cable is needed for the scsi-connector at the back?
Pinouts?

There seems to only one sim-adapter, the other one is slightly
different. What kind of connector is this, and what kind of memory can
be placed in the sim-slot?

My friend has been fiddling a bit to much as it seems, for he can't
start the machine anymore.
All he gets is a black screen.

Is there something like a bios in this machine that can be altered?
If so, how can one acces this?

He hasn't got anything like a start-up disk, so there is a big
problem. If I could find a site where I could download a OS, I
wouldn't be able to place this on a disk the mac would understand, as
I am using a dos-based computer, or am I wrong?
