The ground librarian wants the file as one .shk file, according to an
email he sent me.  Some people were uploading segmented binscii
files and it was causing him problems.

Have you looked at the HyperCard folder on the ground ftp server?
Your HC stack is not unique in being large.  There are HUGE
stacks there, some spanning several megs.  Don't worry...

I look forward to seeing it (at the same time, download some of
the other stacks there and continue to impress the Wintel folks).

The Apple IIGS is an amazing unit!
