I just tried to access a file I saved from CSA2 to my Mac's hard drive
with AppleWorks 3.0 using a serial cable to make a network between the
machines. AppleWorks gave me errors tring to access any of the
Appleshare volumes. I switched to BASIC and tried DOGPAW, but
BASIC.SYSTEM wouldn't recognize them either. Any idea what's wrong?
GS/OS has no problems with the AppleShare volumes.

If you are going to make use of ProDOS 8 software you must be sure that
all names of the Pathname on the Mac conform to ProDOS 8 naming
restrictions. Also be aware that forked files on the Mac can also be a problem.
If I want to use AppleWorks I generally drag the file from the Mac to /Ram5
on my GS. Even then I sometimes have to strip resource forks from the file
before I can use it.
