A normally-formatted 5.25" disk (35 tracks, 8 blocks per track, 512
bytes per block) can hold 140K of data*.  The directory and boot
blocks take up 7 blocks (3.5K), so you'd be left with 136.5K per side.
The flip-side situation is the same as the main side's.

* A "K", in computer terms, is 1024 bytes, not 1000, as many makers of

  so-called 143K disks & drives would have you believe.
