Re: It's MACOS dammit
Yes I did reply to you thanking you for the information, I never did get a
reply, but that was no surprise since I have had problems getting mail to
and from AOL. My daughter has an account there and at least 50% of the
time I will get a reply saying that the AOL user does not wish to receive
mail from me.
As to code developed by others, as I stated in the post, if the author
gave permission or U/L it I had no problem with that, what my problem was
that segments from the main operating code may have been there, wheither
they have been modified or not; ie; logon, main, system. Also even though
they were developed by others, making them available as a general D/L
would really not be a good idea, since there have always been a lot of
pirate GBBS systems out there and Lance did not really do much of
anything. I just was trying to make it clear, per my attorney what could
happen. I have joined the Software Publisher Assoc, and will use them for
any help that I may need. I have found a few systems that I could not ID
and contected them, most had bought their systems from other SysOps and
never bothered to transfer them, mainly because they did not know who to
contect, in 2 cases they were pirate systems, one becasue he had gotten
the program from the site and thought it was PD, the other guy just did
not care, at least at the time, he send me a check for $25.00 and I sent
him the latest BUG FREE segs, updated ACOS and the new 30K external
editor; I think he got a good deal, don't you?
By the way the above was an E-mail reply and bounced!!!!
