Activity vs Apple II
Does anyone here know anything about a GUI called Activity that was released
in 1984. It ran on an obscure portable computer called the ACT Apricot FP.
The computer itself is Intel based, and it runs MS-DOS. However it also runs
the Activity GUI. This is a fairly advanced GUI with some amazing features.
It features shortcuts on its desktop, with user definable icons. The GUI
includes tools to change Icons.
Also it includes a Mac OS style trash can.
Also it includes basic multitasking if used with CCPM.
It is also color if you plug to into an external VDU, which makes it the
first color GUI.
The most amazine feature was its built in voice recognition. This allowed
you to define "voice function keys" for applications and then control them by
speaking into a microphone.
It is clearly an amazing machine, with an amazing GUI.
Does anyone know how it fits in with the history of the Apple II?
If you have any information I would love to hear it.
Thanks in advance.
