Readers,
I've been slow and unreliable in e-mail correspondence because I've not
had home e-mail from an Apple since moving from SC to NM in summer
1995. All e-mail has been from trashy computers like Gateway 2000,
Zenith, IBM, etc. I've been unable to upload or download files. In the
past 3 years, I've even had to type in long manuscripts by hand to send
them via e-mail.
Due to my long pestering, the management here finally set up a UNIX
server, just for me!
I am typing on a IIC, point-to-point software, and 2400 external modem.
(2400 baud seems slower than when I last used the modem in 1995!)
The upshot of this is that I expect to respond sooner to messages than
in the recent past, and I wont be cut off from e-mail during school
vacations anymore.
