Re: data transfer mac - pc
This is the wrong newsgroup to be asking about this problem. This
newsgroup is for Apple II related material only. In the future, if you
have a Macintosh problem, post in comp.sys.mac.
Now that that is out of the way, I am familiar with your problem. I
experienced it when I was downloading some Apple II software on a Mac to
a set of MS-DOS disks. There is a way to work around this problem. Make
sure all your filenames are valid MS-DOS filenames, and you won't get
files that start with an ! and contain the first seven letters, followed
by a . and the next 3.
I don't know of a fix, but this work-around worked for me. At the time,
I was too lazy to reformat the preformatted disks to ProDOS or HFS, when
both machines could handle the MS-DOS disks.
