I have noticed one short announcement of Apple: that's the change of
the name of ClarisWorks to AppleWorks.

Do you remember 1984, the Apple IIc, plus the Apple IIgs in 1986
they came with an integrated software: AppleWorks.  In 1988, Claris
released AppleWorks GS, the premier integrated software with a
color graphics interface (modules of word processing, spreadsheet,
paint and draw, DTP, database, and communication).

In American Apple II users groups and in software reviews, all the
talk was of the AppleWorks machine.  In effect, AppleWorks was
a standard of communication for many people, and opened the door
to macro commands, the capability of mail merge, etc.

The first versions of ClarisWorks were AppleWorks friendly and
could open AppleWorks files well.
