Re: Apple 2C Question
IIC DOCTOR TO THE RESCUE!!!
First, try the internal SELF-TEST. To activate this test, turn off the
power; then,, hold down BOTH apple-keys as you power-up. If a
checkerboard pattern appears on the screen, then you HAVE the self-test.
After a minute of checkerboard, it will say SYSTEM OK if all is well; an
error message will appear otherwise.
If you get an error message, then spell it out to me.
Ig the checkerboard pattern fails to appear, then I can sell you an ROM
check that contains it: $4 including postage and easy-install
instructions.
MY DIAGNOSIS: I have a _hunch_ that a RAM memory chip has burned out.
The IIc has 16 RAM chips. Dont despair! SHIP ME THE CPU and I will
repair it ---- Just return postage and $2 per chip installed. If I get
stumped and cannot fix it, NO CHARGE except return shipping.
