Yes, the Apple 3.5" drives use DD disks, however, I have used HD disks with no
ill effects. I know that past Nathan rants said that the data may corrupt
because of the difference in media, but I have not found that to be the case.
If, however, you take an HD disk that has been formatted as an 800k disk and
move it to a Mac with the larger format drive, it will not recognize the format
unless you trick it. To do that, put a piece of tape over the hole in the upper
left corner.
