AE GS RAM Plus expansion port?

After stumbling onto an expansion board for an Everex 386, I noticed the
chips looked surprisingly similar to the chips on my GS RAM Plus.  I 
pulled the chips, installed them into the GS RAM Plus and simply (and
cost free) upgraded my GS RAM Plus from 5MB to 6MB.  I also noticed this
ribbon connector toward the front of the card.

Is this a connector for adding additional memory on a daughtercard?
I have another 3MB of those chips still sitting in the 386 expansion
card and I'm sure having 8MB or more of memory wouldn't hurt the
GS any.
