Yes, you can still get the System 6.0.1 disks (and I'm not sure,
but probably older versions as well). They are avaliable via FTP at:
ftp://mirror.apple.com/mirrors/Apple_SW_Updates/US/Apple_II/Apple_IIGS_System_6.0.1
they are avaliable in IIgs Shrink-It .bxy archives or in Mac Disk Copy
.hqx files.

I'll let someone else field this, I don't have any idea.

I used to run a 100 meg Quantum Q drive on mine. As far as I know (and I
know I'll be corrected if I'm wrong), any external hard drive that will
work on a mac will work, at least any older one. But in order to run a
hard drive, you'll need to install a SCSI card, and I'm not sure where you
can still get one for a GS. Anyone?
Anyway, hope this helps some, Brian.
