Probably the sanest thing said in this whole thread...

The IIGS does a better job making use of Mac HFS 800k disks than
the Mac's PC Exchange does with ProDOS 800k disks.  Makes sense
if you think about it...Apple wanted to shift emphasis to HFS.  The
PC Exchange is mainly for MS-DOS, with ProDOS as an afterthought.
The HFS FST is very robust, at least as far as floppy disks go (NOT
speaking for hard drives).

The surprising thing is...in these threads, HFS as sneakernet is not
often mentioned...
