Did you get an error messages saying that the printer sc ex cannot be
confirmed?

if so
go to chooser, disable appletalk
make sure you click on the sc ex then choose printer port (or modem port)

if not
post a message back with a full description of the issue
make sure to include os version, computer type & epson driver version & any
error messages!
