O, I see...your helper app is not actually unshking the file...
I thought you set your Netscape to launch a helper app that unshks
the archive file and strips the unpacked files of resources. This makes
sense for 8-bit programs, but will destroy the function of GS programs
that make use of extended files.
See, I have set the Wintel version of Netscape to launch Nulib as a
helper app when it sees .shk. The result is scrambled GS programs.
Since then, I set no helpers for GS programs...instead, I just meta-
click on them to download when using Netscape, forgoing helper
apps. The resulting file always works fine when I take it to the GS
and unshrink using GS Shrinkit. This goes for files downloaded on
a Mac as well as those downloaded on a PC. For the Mac, I just
save it to an HFS disk, take it to the GS, and unshrink. It does not
seem to need the resource stripping and typing you mentioned....
GS Shrinkit ignores rComment resources and any other resource..

Just consistency...I use different types of computers as listed above
...not all of them mine...so I can't go messing around with system
setups. If I don't mess with the files with helpers, they always work
fine when taken to the GS and unpacked with GS Shrinkit...
